Susie Belttari is a direct-response copywriter and marketing strategist based in Oak Hill, Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. Specializing in nutritional supplements and other health product marketing, she writes personal, persuasive copy that gets results. Prior to her freelancing business, Belttari spent five years at Phillips Publishing, Inc., working as Associate Group Publisher and Marketing Director for Dr. Christiane Northrup's Health Wisdom for Women and Dr. Bob Goldstein's Love of Animals newsletters, and Director of Special Products for Dr. Julian Whitaker's Health & Healing newsletter.

As Associate Group Publisher and Marketing Director of Health Wisdom for Women, Belttari grew circulation from 31,000 to 122,000 subscribers by directing winning acquisition promotions, building a profitable ancillary health products business for which she wrote many of the promotional controls, and devising strategy and copy for a new, successful conversion and retention series (up 4.7% to date).

As Director of Special Products for Health & Healing, she built the ancillary health products business from $740,000 to $8.2 million in sales in two and a half years, writing most of the profitable control inserts that ran for years. These include million dollar winners for the Austin HealthMate Air Purifier, which brought in $3.1 million in sales, the Doulton Water Filter, which brought in $1.7 million in sales, The Prostate Report, which brought in $1.62 million in sales, and The Arthritis Report, which brought in $1.34 million.

Belttari started as a copywriter 15 years ago, working for several small ad agencies in Detroit and Washington D.C. She gained a wide base of experience writing various print ads, direct-mail packages, video and radio scripts, sales brochures and other collateral materials for national clients in the home building materials, banking, orthopedic, and real estate industries. She has also written fundraising direct-mail promotions for non-profit organizations.

She is married to Bob Belttari, an independent database analyst and consultant, and they have one daughter, Bryn Elizabeth. They are all owned by one cat, Milley.
